Satu prinsip utama untuk membentuk susun atur dapur (Kitchen Layout) adalah Zon Kerja Segitiga Dapur (Kitchen Work Triangle). Zon kerja segitiga dapur termasuk zon penyimpanan, penyediaan makanan dan pembersihan.

Garis panduan zon kerja segitiga dapur ini dapat membantu kita untuk memastikan aliran kerja dalam dapur adalah lancar, tanpa halangan. 
Garis panduan membentuk tiga zon ini supaya ia tidak terlalu jauh daripada satu sama lain dan tidak terlalu dekat antara satu sama lain agar menjamin keselesaan anda sewaktu menggunakan ruang dapur tersebut.
Garisan di antara tiga zon kerja ini tidak boleh melebihi jumlah
jarak 6 meter.Jarak yang sesuai di antara poin kerja ialah 90 cm.
