Laminate flooring vs Vinyl Flooring


Looking for laminate floor or vinyl floor? Many are mistaken among laminate flooring with vinyl flooring. 

Laminate Flooring

Laminate flooring has a hard surface that looks like a wooden floor (like tile) and is made of recycled wood. It looks like a hardwood floor but a fancy version that might against scratches. The floor size is about 8mm to 12mm and can be placed on the existing floor, whether it's concrete or hardwood tile. Laminate flooring is a "lockable" floor and click together in its place. Because it is made of recycled wood, it is not waterproof. It also not suitable to be installed in areas where moisture or moisture accumulates such as basements or bathrooms.

Vinyl Flooring

You can get vinyl flooring in various patterns and your floor will look like real wood and luxury. Unlike laminate flooring, vinyl flooring has waterproof resistance. However, vinyl flooring is not able to withstand the stagnant water stagnant or rubbing on surface (cleaning process). This is because the adhesive under the vinyl floor is not waterproof and sometimes the vinyl floor is attached to the plywood, if the board is submerged with water, the sub-floor can expand. However, the vinyl flooring is more flexible and soft, facilitating the installation process on a corrugated or steep surface. And the home surface should be smooth so that the floor installation process is easy and tidy.
